NBA star Luka Doncic has purchased Maria Sharapova’s Manhattan Beach residence for $25 million. The modern, three-story home includes five bedrooms, a basement-level two-lane bowling alley, and a great room that opens directly to the pool.
Records reviewed on PropertyShark.com show the Aug. 27 sale was completed through Doncic’s business manager, Lara Beth Seager, who declined to comment further.
Custom built in 2015 on just under a quarter acre in Manhattan Beach’s coveted Hill Section, the property is prized for its large lots, ocean views, and high-end new construction. “Values there are so high—and the desirability so strong—that virtually any house 20 or 25 years old is bulldozer bait,” said Dave Fratello of Edge Real Estate Agency and the MB Confidential blog. He noted the upper Hill Section offers some of the city’s best views, stretching to Palos Verdes.
The neighborhood has become a magnet for pro athletes. Fratello previously reported that former L.A. Rams quarterback Jared Goff assembled side-by-side properties for a future mega-estate, paying $10.5 million in May 2023 for a remodeled French country–style mansion once owned by “Modern Family” writer-producer Danny Zuker, and $8.575 million that November for the remodeled neighboring home from 1952.
Sharapova, 38, bought the site in 2012 for $4.1 million, razed the original house, and collaborated with Los Angeles–based KAA Design on the new build. “I was obsessed with the process of making this home,” she told Architectural Digest in 2019. “This was my project, and I wasn’t going to delegate any part of it.”
